The fifth season of free jazz concerts performed in downtown Brighton at the Mill Pond kicks off this year on June 14th. Featuring incredible talent from around the state, each act in the lineup this year showcases a different genre of jazz.
There’s a free swing dance lesson at 6:30 PM offered by The Dance Project, and the concerts run from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. It’s a non-stop energetic vibe in this convenient, accessible and inspiring outdoor location.
Concerts are held the second Wednesday of each month, and feature these performers:
June 14, 2017 Sean Dobbins and the Modern Jazz Messengers
July 12, 2017 The Nighthawks Jazz Orchestra
August 9, 2017 The Dave Bennett Quartet
September 13, 2017 The Brothers Groove
Promoter Cal Whitney says, “The pool of musicians that we tap into is, in my highly-biased opinion, matched only by a few large metropolitan areas like New York and New Orleans.”
Come see for yourself and make a night of it; dinner before or after in downtown Brighton with a free jazz concert to spice up the summer nights. It’s all part of the excitement just minutes from Hidden Lake.
