The nip in the air, the color creeping into the leaves of the Maples, Oak and Hickory trees…..there is no season quite like fall in Michigan. Gear up for Halloween this year with a moonlight hayride, for your family or a group of friends, brought to you by Brighton State Recreation’s Riding Stable.
Brighton State Rec is part of the State Park system in Michigan; a wonder in and of itself. The Riding Stable offers lessons, camps, trail rides and educational opportunities throughout the year. On weekends in October, special hayrides are on offer to usher in the season of spookiness.
You can join in a hayride with others, or book your own group hayride for a special event or party. Either way, you’ll experience a hayride through the woods complete with rustling leaves and scuttling clouds, and end up at a bonfire to roast S’mores.
Coffee, cider and hot chocolate are available for purchase, and it’s just $8.00 per person for the ride and bonfire. (Children age 2 to 6 are half price, and kids under 2 are free.)
Brighton State Rec Riding Stable is located at 6660 Chilson Road in Howell; phone is 810-534-5063.
